Is there any other colour more synonymous with summer than white? From traditional tennis kits to the table cloth on your alfresco dinner table, white plays a part in many summer activities. None more so than your summer wardrobe.

It doesn't matter if your style is feminine or androgynous, there is something for everyone in this colourway. Talisa Sutton, Aylin Koenig and Anouk Yve's style is much more romantic with lady-like dresses, delicate displays of skins and intricate detailing. For Alex Riviere, Lily Montasser and Marielle Lindahl it's all about the oversized shirt worn over their swimwear or a textured material co-ord set that will work for both day and night. Like Anouk, finish your look with matching white accessories; a textured bag and minimalist footwear are the perfect pairing.

Another reason to love white is no other colour brings out a tan more and after hours sunbathing you want your hard work to be seen. It also feels very grown up to wear white... because only a true adult can be responsible enough to not get a mark on it!

We've been in 'Lockdown 2.0' for nearly two weeks and while the restrictions are similar to earlier in year, the lack of sunshine, early sunsets and run up to Christmas makes this experience feel different.

The way we view getting dressed in the morning has changed as well. When we first entered lockdown it's fair to say we all cherished not having to put much thought into our outfits and quickly put on our favourite PJs, mismatched loungewear and oversized shirtsWhile we are still making the most of wearing our favourite comfortable clothing, we also seem to be craving some of our pre-lockdown routine and want to put more effort into what we're wearing.

This time around the key trends appearing are luxurious warming textures perfect for the chiller weather, matching loungewear in relaxing greys, neutrals & yellows, and cosy cable knit sets that can easily take you from your dining room table to your sofa. And we're not forgetting the finishing touches like borg fabric slippers and cashmere socks

Who knows how long this will continue to be our 'new normal' for but while that decision is out of our control, how we decide to start the day is completely in our hands.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like we've been pretty lucky with the weather this year. Only in the past couple of weeks have we really felt the weather turn and Autumn arrive. And what does the changing of  the seasons mean? It's time to fill those shelves and drawers with an abundance of knitwear.

While wearing knitwear in the autumn and winter months is nothing new, every year brings different trends when it comes to our favourite jumpers and cardigans. For Autumn/Winter 20 the big three are cable knit, collars and vests. Overall it has a slight masculine tone, evoking memories of your dad's or grandad's jumper draws in the 90s, but in this decade it feels far more feminine and polished.

The cable knit is a one stop wonder and will look just chic if it's paired with lounge shorts or oversized jeans. A collared jumper or cardigan is a great transitional piece, both in and out of the season and gives any outfit a laidback tailored feel. Finally, the knitted vest top is already very popular with influencers and followers alike wearing long sleeve oversized shirts underneath or, for the ones who don't feel the cold, they dare to bare the arms.

Whether you pick one trend or all three, these are the pieces that will get through the next few months however they may be.

When it comes to picking my outfit for the day I have a rule where I can't wear more than three colours at a time. I'm not sure where this rule comes from and I wish I could break it but I actually feel physically uncomfortable if I try to. However, neutral colours help me to feel more relaxed about bending that rule and that is why it's one of my favourite colour palettes. I also love neutrals because they are classic, sophisticated and luxurious. An effortless outfit can easily be put together with these colours. My favourite way to wear neutrals is by wearing sharp strong tailored pieces, light silky feminine dresses or scrumptiously soft separates that I can relax in. While some may call them boring, to me they're the perfect addition to any wardrobe.

As everything slowed down after the last few months, we were given the chance to realise that sometimes it really is the small things that can make all the difference. One example of that is our lingerie. Sometimes we can overlook updating or investing in our lingerie in favour of buying a new dress or bag - after all more people are likely to see it.

But to me an outfit is really made when you know you're wearing  a luxurious, beautiful pair of underwear that feels both comfortable and special. It can be an instant confidence boost! A bra, body or bottoms made of delicate lace with intricate stitching, finishings and straps is exactly what your underwear draw is craving and what you deserve to be wearing.

As the sunshine returns and holidays become a slightly more realistic option, it doesn't seem like such a strange idea to start buying some swimwear. For those of you who don't want to spend a fortune on loads of different designs and prints, I would recommend investing in one or two great minimal pieces that would work in any location. Black, white and neutral colours gives you the freedom to wear it with a pair of denim shorts on the beach, with an oversized dress in the city or with stacks of gold jewellery. Don't let the simple colour palette put you off - change it up a bit with asymmetric and plunging necklines or feminine or athletic bikini tops.

The puff sleeve is undoubtedly one of my favourite trends for SS20, I love the absolute femininity of this design detail and it's easy to understand why it's become so popular. I can still remember when images from Cecilie Bahnsen's SS20 runway show flooded my Instagram feed last September. One image after another, they each displayed wistful, sweet ladylike silhouettes. Since then it has trickled down into the high-street and into our wardrobes.

I especially like the earthy tone midi dresses worn by Jessica and NYC X Clothes where the neutral colour juxtaposes the drama the cap sleeves. Masha's long sleeve mini dress is another favourite for an everyday option.

Rather than reminisce the extravagance of the 1980s, the oversized shoulders and sleeves have a much softer silhouette that highlights and exaggerates the shape of female form instead of creating a dominance like the former. I don't think this trend will be disappearing soon and will definitely be a key shape for AW20 too.

I'll be completely honest with you - I'm no beauty expert. In fact I'm still learning a lot about skincare. I only started a proper routine two years ago after years of just a make-up remover and an occasional moisturiser. My routine is now three times as long with Nivea's micellar water, The Ordinary's hyaluronic acid and La Roche Posay's cleanser, toner and anti-blemish moisturiser.

The amount of beauty products available and their ingredients can be overwhelming at the beginning and it's difficult to know where to start. But sites like Cult Beauty and Deciem easily explain the science behind how everything works and the end results you can expect.

I realised quickly how much of luxury and a treat it is to look after yourself in this way. To take the time to exfoliate, moisturise, wear a face mask or relax in a bath can have such a positive effect on your mind and your skin. That was the most important lesson I learnt.

As we now find ourselves working from our beds, sofas, dining room table or makeshift desk, the clothes we now chose to wear everyday has changed. Regardless of where you're working inside (!), it's still important to get up in the morning and get dressed to keep some sense of normality. The usual 'workwear' ideas have been thrown out. Structured blazers, pussybow blouses, straight-leg jeans and croc-effect boots are replaced with oversized sweatshirts, matching tracksuit sets, cosy knitwear and silk pyjamas. This is the new normal.

Sometimes it's the little things that can matter the most. Something as small as the jewellery on your wrist, the bag in your hand or the shoes on your feet can transform the way you feel. Never under estimate the power of the small details. Fortunately there are some beautiful and affordable trinkets for us to own and treasure. From New Look's pearl handle bag to Topshop's wrap bracelet, these are the little extra pieces to love.

Leather is a versatile material as it can make an outfit whatever you want it to be; masculine and tailored, feminine and powerful or oversized and confident.

First seen on The Row, Hermes and Givenchy runway, the leather trend quickly became a must-have for Spring Summer 2020. As demonstrated by the likes of @mariemikh, @aninebing and @pernilleteisbaek, it can be an added layer on the colder days of spring or a lighter option during the warmer times in summer.

Proving its versatility, you can buy a light, neutral colour palette of ecrus, toffees and creams and also take it back to its rock’n’roll origins with black oversized trousers and button-up mini dresses.

My favourite piece? It has to be H&M’s belted jacket as it not only ticks off the SS20 green trend, the soft fabric and olive tone is absolutely scrumptious. And most excitedly, the high-street has treated us to a far more affordable, yet just as coveted version of Bottega Veneta’s clutch with ASOS’ offering available in an array of colours.

For the conscientious shopper, it is worth spending your money on this trend as it continued to appear on the runway during Petar Petrov, Jil Sander and Rejina Pyo's AW20 shows, confirming its longevity.

As the new season begins now is the time to create a 'foundation' on which to build your new wardrobe from. A neutral palette full of the best basics is the perfect starting point before you start adding more trend-led pieces.

A curated winter wardrobe will always include the following classic pieces; a camel belted coat, a white roll neck jumper and a pair of trusty straight-leg jeans. Chunky gold jewellery and silky slip skirts continue to be staples after becoming fan favourites over the past few months.

Taking inspiration from the designers, Topshop's bold shoulder jumper is the perfect Isabel Marant dupe while River Island's leather belted trousers are sure to be as popular as Nanushka's offering. Finally, the check utility jacket has very quickly become the must-have outerwear piece so don't miss out!

Everyone knows The Little Black Dress has been an outfit staple ever since Baby spoke of Posh's difficult decision in 'Spice World: The Movie': "The little black dress? The little black dress? Or... The little black dress?

However, according to the SS19 runways it's okay to leave the LBD hanging up and instead wear the LWD - Little White Dress. White is undoubtedly the chicest of colours in the sunny months so whether you're walking down Regent's Street, Las Ramblas or Bondi Beach, you'll be perfectly dressed.

You only have to look out onto the streets or scroll through social media to see hair accessories are a big trend for SS19. The 80s headbands and 90s scrunchies may remind us of our childhood, but this time they're definitely designed for grown ups. We've moved on from ribbons printed in our school colours, glittered butterfly clips and headbands with our names painted on it. Now these accessories are the perfect way to finish an outfit with very little effort - win win!

Clips

The hair clip received a designer seal of approval when Gucci's logo clip hit the market and they now come in a variety of designs including romantic pearls, tropical tortoise and shout-about-it slogans. It's the easiest way to add something to your hair or to simply make your jewellery box look prettier.

Head Band

An effortless way to create a polished finish, the hairband has evolved since Blair Waldorf in 2007 and recently made another debut in the form of Prada's padded headband. Complete your outfit with a monochrome or tonal headband, or make it the pièce de résistance with a printed or pearl encrusted option.

Bows

Rather than being a sweet finishing touch from your younger years, the bow is a grown-up way to add some sophistication to any outfit. A thin delicate ribbon is a lovely way to add Parisian chic, while a large satin or velvet bow can create texture and structure. Buy a band with a ready-made bow for a super easy morning routine.

Scrunchies

An iconic accessory from the 1990s, the scrunchie fits into any SS19 occasion; a workday, a trip abroad, your weekend or a workout. Create a low-key look by adding a minimal satin-feel scrunchie to your bun or simply wear it around your wrist for an instant holiday vibe.

Scarves

After the popular headscarf trend of AW18, imagine hair scarves as its younger summer sister. Wrap it around your ponytail for a slick finish or weave it into your plait for an off-duty feel. Chose to compliment your outfit with a similar colour or make the scarf the point of attention with a fun print.

THE EDIT | 6TH MARCH

After the few days of glorious sunshine last week it feels like Spring is just on the horizon, which makes my fast developing love of pastel green totally understandable. Dress like Jeanne Damas with Mango's tailored blazer for work, followed by Topshop's slip skirt for the weekend.
In celebration of Intentional Women's Day on the 8th of March, Net-A-Porter have collaborated with a number of designers to create t-shirts marking the event. You can join in by wearing New Look's more affordable, yet just as inspiring slogan t-shirt.
Warehouse has answered our Celine prayers by designing their own bamboo initial necklace, thereby filling the void left by the sold-out accessory.

THE EDIT | 17TH OCTOBER

I'm obsessed with satin at the moment; the fact that I visited five different Topshop stores to find their sell-out satin midi skirts proves that point! And now Mango has created the sweetest knotted satin bag that I also really really want! Don't be scared to combine this soft texture with a tougher one like leather or corduroy to make it a versatile staple.
