Is there any other colour more synonymous with summer than white? From traditional tennis kits to the table cloth on your alfresco dinner table, white plays a part in many summer activities. None more so than your summer wardrobe.

It doesn't matter if your style is feminine or androgynous, there is something for everyone in this colourway. Talisa Sutton, Aylin Koenig and Anouk Yve's style is much more romantic with lady-like dresses, delicate displays of skins and intricate detailing. For Alex Riviere, Lily Montasser and Marielle Lindahl it's all about the oversized shirt worn over their swimwear or a textured material co-ord set that will work for both day and night. Like Anouk, finish your look with matching white accessories; a textured bag and minimalist footwear are the perfect pairing.

Another reason to love white is no other colour brings out a tan more and after hours sunbathing you want your hard work to be seen. It also feels very grown up to wear white... because only a true adult can be responsible enough to not get a mark on it!

The final accessories trend of Spring Summer 20 is the textured bag. Having a woven straw bag as part of your summer wardrobe may not be a new idea, but whereas in the past it's just felt like 'a bag' you'd pull out of the summer box year after year, this season the trend takes centre stage and has been extended to include other textures.

Jil Sander's oversized canvas tote bag and Jacquemus' mini straw bag with frayed edges put this trend at the forefront of the season, while Loewe's woven basket tote is having a real moment with nearly every influencer and editor posting their own bag in various summer scenarios.

Other brands have invested in this trend with Boyy redesigning their buckle tote bag to include woven and canvas options and the majority of Cult Gaia's collection is made up of bamboo, straw and wood. Both Anine Bing and Sporty & Rich launched their own canvas shopper bags which are perfect for a day spent at the beach, running errands or the kind of day where you need to carry your entire life around with you. The high street has a wide selection for us to shop from with Arket, Mango and Nasty Gal taking inspired from the likes of Jil Sander, Loewe and Cult Gaia respectively.

Sometimes it's the little things that can matter the most. Something as small as the jewellery on your wrist, the bag in your hand or the shoes on your feet can transform the way you feel. Never under estimate the power of the small details. Fortunately there are some beautiful and affordable trinkets for us to own and treasure. From New Look's pearl handle bag to Topshop's wrap bracelet, these are the little extra pieces to love.

You only have to look out onto the streets or scroll through social media to see hair accessories are a big trend for SS19. The 80s headbands and 90s scrunchies may remind us of our childhood, but this time they're definitely designed for grown ups. We've moved on from ribbons printed in our school colours, glittered butterfly clips and headbands with our names painted on it. Now these accessories are the perfect way to finish an outfit with very little effort - win win!

Clips

The hair clip received a designer seal of approval when Gucci's logo clip hit the market and they now come in a variety of designs including romantic pearls, tropical tortoise and shout-about-it slogans. It's the easiest way to add something to your hair or to simply make your jewellery box look prettier.

Head Band

An effortless way to create a polished finish, the hairband has evolved since Blair Waldorf in 2007 and recently made another debut in the form of Prada's padded headband. Complete your outfit with a monochrome or tonal headband, or make it the pièce de résistance with a printed or pearl encrusted option.

Bows

Rather than being a sweet finishing touch from your younger years, the bow is a grown-up way to add some sophistication to any outfit. A thin delicate ribbon is a lovely way to add Parisian chic, while a large satin or velvet bow can create texture and structure. Buy a band with a ready-made bow for a super easy morning routine.

Scrunchies

An iconic accessory from the 1990s, the scrunchie fits into any SS19 occasion; a workday, a trip abroad, your weekend or a workout. Create a low-key look by adding a minimal satin-feel scrunchie to your bun or simply wear it around your wrist for an instant holiday vibe.

Scarves

After the popular headscarf trend of AW18, imagine hair scarves as its younger summer sister. Wrap it around your ponytail for a slick finish or weave it into your plait for an off-duty feel. Chose to compliment your outfit with a similar colour or make the scarf the point of attention with a fun print.
