Sunshine finally gives us the opportunity to put away the jumpers and jeans and fill our wardrobes with gorgeous dresses. The light materials, intricate details and vitamin D on our skin is what we've waited for all year.
The Off-The-Shoulder: If you don't own an off-the-shoulder top or dress, how have you managed that?! They are everywhere on the high street and we are absolutely loving it. River Island offer a double layer bardot maxi dress which is perfect for a low-key evening event. Topshop's pale blue dress also incorporates a waist knot giving the cold shoulder midi added shape and definition.
The White: Nothing says summer quite like white. The simplicity and femininity of white is why it's a summer essential. French Connection offer an impossibly sweet cotton knot dress which you can take into the colder months by slipping a jumper underneath. Or there's Topshop's shirt dress with black bow detailing for every summer occasion, whether that's a day in the office or drinks outside afterwards.
The Print: Gingham has been revived thanks to Victoria Beckham's SS16 collection. Warehouse has incorporated the print with the ultimate female silhouette and length. ASOS's structured shift dress is a wonderful combination of nautical-print chic and Asian inspiration with kimono sleeves and a wide waist tie. Finally, Zara's block print slip dress is such an easy-to-wear piece. Wear as it is with a pair of heeled sandals for evening or pop a t-shirt underneath with platform trainers for the day.
The LBD: The Little Black Dress is every woman's secret weapon when it comes to power and confidence inducing dressing. Just because it's summer doesn't mean it should disappear. Lavish Alice offer a summer appropriate option with cross-back tie-ups and thigh-high split details.
