Belle Femme!

I'm so excited for the Once Upon a Time film about Coco Chanel, directed by Karl Lagerfeld and starring Keria Knightley. The film is about Gabrielle (Coco) opening her first store in Deauville in 1913.

I couldn't think of anyone better to direct this film - Karl has been the creative director of Chanel for a long time and I'm sure he has a lot of love and respect for Coco Chanel. The film features Keria, who has featured in the Coco Mademoiselle campaign previously, and all of his favourite models. I'm a big fan of Keria Knightley - she has the poise and grace to convey such an quintessential French woman

I've watched the French film Coco Before Chanel and found it so fascinating. The film took us through Gabrielle's life, showing how she rose from singing in a bar and tailoring women's dresses to become a successful fashion designer thanks to her influential connections and her strong distaste for tight fitting, over the top clothes. The outfits she design were seen as plain, boring and too masculine but she stuck to her vision and became one of the most iconic women of the 20th century.

The film will be released on the 8th May, to celebrate the day Chanel opened her shop 100 years ago.

Hope you're enjoying the sun!

Xx - Laura.
