On Tuesday (11th February) my university course and I went to London to visit the Pure Trade Show. Pure is an industry event (althgouh the public can visit) held twice a year showcasing the up and coming trends. Tuesday's exhibition was all about Autumn/Winter 2014/2015, which tied in well with London Fashion Week that started a couple of days later.
When we initially arrived we had a look around the stalls and displays, getting an idea of retailors will be offering next season. After that we all watched the first seminar of the day - "Womenswear Catwak" which demonstrated an "inspirational line-up" of the trends, fabrics and silhouettes on offer next season.
This was shortly followed by a talk from WGSN presenting their trend forecast for the season. For those of you who don't know, WGSN is a company which predicts future trends, key items and how each season will transition into each other - which I had previously created mood boards for.
We ended the day with another seminar - the "Spirit Catwalk". This showcased collections from the younger, more youthful fashion brands, while also featuring emerging designers. This was definitely my favourite part of the day!
